Pose

/pəʊz/
noun
the position in which someone stands, sits, lies down, etc.

As it related to human movement and sports, it is the central position to which someone constantly returns to (cycles through) as part of the repetitive movement of any specific activity.

The name of the method developed by Dr. Romanov – the Pose Method – came from the word pose, as in ‘body pose‘. Due to the purpose of the pose and according to its nature, in the Pose Method, such body pose is referred to as the ‘key pose’.

KEY POSE

Key pose is a moment of transformation of energy. We do not create energy so it can only be redirected. The key pose is what allows us to use gravity for movement forward or any other direction.

At the heart of the Pose Method are the key poses unique to each sport – the running pose, the swimming pose, the cycling pose, etc – yet with the common foundation of principles.
